Applesauce Labels

Remember all of that applesauce I made last month? Well, it’s getting super close to Christmas and time to give it all away. I wanted to jazz up my gift a little by making labels for the applesauce, so I designed a super cute red and green label in InDesign.

I printed them out and started cutting each label out. I applied them to the jars in different ways, but the way I liked best was adding it to the jar with ribbon. To do so, I cut two lines on either side of the label using an exacto knife, then I slid the ribbon through these holes.

I then put a few dabs of hot glue onto the back the label and placed it onto the jar, making sure to secure the ribbon with a dab or two of hot glue as well.

Don’t the labels look great? I left a line at the bottom so I could write in the flavor of the applesauce before giving them to my coworkers for Christmas.

Here’s one with a little bow instead of ribbon around the jar. These turned out adorable as well.

Holiday printables

I just realized that I forgot to share these pretty little printables when I made them two weekends ago!

I created the snowflake background in InDesign, which I was able to use for a project at work, too!

Then I used two contrasting fonts to spread a little holiday cheer and giggles. First up: Staching through the snow. I saw this saying somewhere else and burst out laughing. What will people think of next when it comes to mustaches?

And for a classier approach: Dashing through the snow

It’s so pretty 🙂 I might need to frame it and hang it up at home for the holidays. The gray is actually a Pantone metallic silver. Oh la la! And the whole thing is blue, so it would fit in nicely at my house.

Feel free to download them and print them out for your home!

Fonts used:

  • Respective Swashes Slanted (Dashing/Staching)
  • Secret Code (through the snow)
  • Soft Ornaments (snowflakes…. each point of the snowflake is a letter in Soft Ornaments. I copied and pasted and rotated until they created these pretty little snowflakes. Then, I grouped them and turned them into an object.)

Love love love

I have a friend who always says, “I love love.” This made me think of her. I made one square of love (each letter is inside the previous one), then grouped it together and rotated it to make this piece. It’s pretty stinking cute.

Sorry that all you get today is a printable… work has been crazy (We are almost finished writing copy for our alumni magazine! Whew!) and I’ve stayed late several days this week. And now that it is dark so early I have such a hard time wanting to do anything but cuddle up with my hubby and dog and watch TV. Oh well. Tomorrow is a craft fair, then Sunday is my man’s birthday. It will be pretty low key, but hopefully a good one nonetheless.
